Job Description And Duties

Are you looking for a role that involves problem-solving, working with people, and applying your accounting knowledge to ensure the Accounts Receivable and Receipts Unit runs smoothly. Join our team as a Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist), where you will play a key role in supporting the department.

As a Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist) you will have the opportunity to:

  • Reconcile Centralized Treasury System accounts and monthly cash remittance reports with State Controller’s Office (SCO) reports to ensure all payments are accurately recorded
  • Prepare transaction requests to SCO to timely recognize revenues and reimbursements
  • Analyze, prepare, and submit transaction requests to SCO, including non-sufficient funds, checks, Credit Card charge-back, payment corrections, and refund requests as needed
  • Assist month-end close with reviewing queries, analyzing and addressing pending items in FI$Cal
  • Assist the unit supervisor in completing the daily deposit and revenue collection activities
  • Lead Student Assistants in processing mail and collecting revenues
