This position is located in the Sacramento Headquarters Office.
Under the supervision of the Taxpayers’ Rights Advocate (TRA) Division Chief, the Analyst I assists or personally handles various analytical projects as assigned by the Chief. The Analyst I also investigates and assists in resolving taxpayer complaints and problems. The Analyst I is responsible for monitoring the Customer Satisfaction Surveys, evaluating responses from the survey, and providing reports and recommendations to the TRA Chief.
Additionally, the Analyst I may perform advisory services to taxpayers and other governmental agencies by phone or in writing. As the possible first contact for taxpayers with the TRA Office, the Analyst I must exercise tact and good judgment. The Analyst I acts as the office’s training and travel coordinator and HR liaison for personnel matters related to the TRA Office and other Executive Office teams as needed.
On a routine basis, the incumbent will assist team members with research on taxpayer account history and will perform other related duties as necessary.
Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for partial telework for eligible candidates residing in California. All telework/hybrid schedules require staff to report to the office a minimum number of days per week. Schedules are subject to change.
Currently, per the California Budget Act of 2025, all California Department of Tax and Fee Administration salaries are subject to the provisions of the State of California's Personal Leave Program.
