Relationship Manager, Middle Market

The Relationship Manager is responsible for new business development, portfolio management and underwriting to support the needs of the group. This role will focus on clients that typically have an annual revenue between $30MM and $500MM.

Position Responsibilities
  • Increase the Bank's profitability by cultivating new business relationships.
  • Maintain and develop customer relationships, new business, and periodic review of existing loan arrangements.
  • Negotiate proper loan structures, selling the Bank's credit and non‑credit products.
  • Accept special projects in support of the team and community involvement.
  • Maintain knowledge of corporate banking, credit and non‑credit products, trust, real estate, treasury management and other bank functions.
  • Maintain knowledge of accounting and financial principles, marketing and sales principles, credit analysis, economics and other bank functions.
Travel

Travel is required of this position at least 10% of the time.

Position Qualifications
  • 5 years in middle market lending, commercial lending, credit structuring or related relationship management roles in financial services.
  • 3 years financial sales or portfolio management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Completion of a Commercial Credit Training Program and deep credit knowledge.
  • Experience with bi‑lateral and/or syndicated deals, credit products and credit analysis.
  • Experience in Middle Market lending, maintaining a book of clients with annual revenues between $30M and $500M.
  • Understanding of commercial banking products and services.
  • Demonstrated business development experience generating and retaining client relationships while meeting or exceeding sales goals, proven top individual contributor.
  • Experience collaborating across multi‑faceted financial institutions or similar institutions, especially with relationship bankers, wealth management, treasury management, product, service and operations partners.
Compensation and Benefits

Work Best Category:
Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days.

Hours:

8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday.

Salary:
For candidates hired in the state of California, Colorado, Washington, New York, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, or Massachusetts the expected salary/On‑Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently:
California – $108,350 – $229,350 annually.

Salary Range(s) is subject to change. Comerica Bank takes several factors into account when determining individual starting pay. These include but are not limited to position, grade level, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation.
