Assistant Deputy Director, Multifamily Finance and Loan Closing
Join the California Department of Housing & Community Development (HCD) as an Assistant Deputy Director responsible for overseeing the Multifamily Finance and Loan Closing functions within the Division of State Financial Assistance (DSFA). This role supports the Deputy Director and Executive team in policy development, legal interpretation, and daily operations of key branches such as Multifamily Super NOFA, Climate Change, and Loan Closing.
Responsibilities- Assist the DSFA Deputy Director in developing and implementing policies that promote affordable housing and community development for targeted California residents.
- Interpret and enforce state laws, rules, and regulations related to multifamily finance, including loan closing procedures.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the DSFA’s Multifamily Super NOFA, Climate Change, and Loan Closing Branches.
- Collaborate with the Executive team and Department staff to ensure programs meet eligibility and performance standards.
- Manage telework eligibility requirements and coordinate hybrid/hybrid schedules as permitted by law.
- Eligible to be appointed to a Career Executive Assignment by the State of California.
- Minimum experience in financial services, public finance, affordable housing, or related fields; must satisfy the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of California government finance and loan administration.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
