Indirect Tax – Sales & Use Lookback Review COE – Manager (EY)

Handling multi‑state sales/use tax recovery projects for large, sophisticated organizations takes more than just a technical understanding of current sales and use tax rules. As the Sales and Use Tax Manager assigned to EY’s Lookback Review Center of Excellence (COE), you will build and apply your knowledge across a wide range of tax‑recovery projects for clients in multiple industries.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou’ll spend your time on a diverse array of projects, providing up‑to‑the‑minute tax advice to clients, collaborating closely with colleagues, and maintaining the highest level of client service.
Skills & Attributes for Success- Researching client business operations and building long‑lasting relationships.
- Identifying applicable sales and use tax exemptions and exclusions.
- Identifying potential over‑payment opportunities or risks and communicating these to clients.
- Monitoring current tax law changes to maintain your credibility as a trusted advisor.
- Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches for tax recoveries.
- Preparing and defending sales and use tax refund claims.
- Participating in a motivated team of professionals.
- Managing a motivated team, guaranteeing they have the skills, knowledge and opportunities to reach full potential.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
- Professional knowledge in a broad range of sales and use tax processes, concepts and tools.
- Experience managing budgets, people and projects.
- A proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.
- Technical writing and research experience in a tax context.
- The ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects.
- Strong influencing skills, and confidence to question existing processes.
- Willingness to travel as needed, and comfort working in a balanced hybrid environment.
- An achieved CPA qualification, certification as a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, CMI designation, or membership of a state bar.

What We Offer- A comprehensive compensation and benefits package, with base salary ranging from $105,100 to $192,600 nationwide, and higher ranges for major metros. Total rewards include medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and paid time off.
