Item Processing Representative

General DescriptionSupport the organization’s vision by accurately handling financial transactions in the Item Processing department, ensuring seamless operation of essential processes.
Responsibilities- Receive and process a variety of financial transactions (checks, deposits, bill pay) via mail, mobile, or ATM channels.
- Utilize item processing systems to complete transactions accurately and timely.
- Review transactions to identify and correct errors or discrepancies.
- Enter data with high accuracy to maintain financial records integrity.
- Maintain retention and storage of ATM and Remittance work.
- Review deposit reporting in alignment with Regulation CC for ATM and Mobile deposits.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from members, branches, and departments.
- Validate information to minimize errors in transaction processing.
- Deliver exemplary service to members, branches, and department staff with efficiency and courtesy.
- Organize, prioritize, and multitask while being detail oriented.
- Collaborate with fraud prevention to enhance security protocols and reduce risks.
- Maintain thorough understanding of state and federal compliance laws (bank secrecy, anti‑money laundering).
- Provide additional support throughout the department as needed.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 1+ year experience in cash management or financial industry.
- 1+ year customer‑service experience.
- Prior experience in item processing or related financial roles preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial transactions.
- High awareness of potential fraudulent checks.
- Excellent communication skills for internal business partners.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaborative skills.
- Proficient computer skills and software experience.
- Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
- Correct vision within the normal range.
- Hearing within normal range.
- Occasional movement throughout the department daily to interact with staff.
