The Field Service Engineer II interacts directly with the customer at its place of business to develop the methods and processes best suited to meet the requirements of integrating Intelligrated products into the customer’s operations. The Customer Service Engineer provides on-site installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, moderate PLC program modifications, perform preventative maintenance, train customer’s personnel, system audits and installation of various retro-fits to material handling equipment.

In addition to the basic services provided, the Customer Service Engineer (Level Two) is responsible for planned and emergency service calls varying from mechanical, electrical, system control issues and may assist with equipment installation and subcontractor management.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct planned/emergency service calls, various rebuilds on equipment, system audits, and preventive maintenance contracts.
  • Prepare needed tools and review drawings, etc. for service calls.
  • Complete service, expense, preventive maintenance contract, and system audit reports.
  • Research part numbers from service calls and information related to service/manual readings prior to and during service calls.
  • Check retrofit parts orders and rebuild project parts orders.
  • Communicate with customers on system-related issues.
  • Prepare for services, review SOWs, budgets and manpower.
  • Review service reports with the customer.
  • Update dashboard incident retrieval.
  • Conduct system walk-downs or walk-throughs.
  • Assist in training customer maintenance staff.
  • Complete warranty request forms.
  • Direct and/or conduct rebuilds on field equipment.
  • Diagnose field mechanical and controls programming issues.
  • Work with Engineering and Parts to file parts requests to solve field issues and with Engineering to solve system projects.
  • Communicate with other CSE's, management and engineering to discuss solutions to problems.
  • Assist Technical Support with mechanical related calls.
  • Upsell customers on upgrades and new products to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in training other CSEs in the field.
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
  • Up to 90% overnight US & International travel may be necessary.
Qualifications
  • In addition to Level One qualifications.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering plus three to five years of field service, system maintenance, mechanical, electrical and controls troubleshooting or equivalent experience in a similar position required showing progressive increase in responsibility.
