Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental health and safety (EH&S) policies and procedures both within the organization and at off-site service facilities. The role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to EH&S and manages all communications with the appropriate agencies.
Essential Functions- Knowledge and experience with ISO 45001:2018 (Health and Safety), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental) standards.
- Ability to interpret ISO clause requirements and locate/collate evidence that either proves or disproves compliance with the standards.
- Ability to determine problem root‑causes and development and/or co‑development of effective corrective actions that resolve or mitigate Environmental Health and Safety non‑conformities.
- Perform internal EH&S audits.
- Assure hazardous waste disposal meets regulatory requirements.
- Strengthen EH&S customer site safety through on‑site audits and problem resolution.
- Perform Job Hazard and Risk Assessments, work with department personnel to eliminate or minimize potential impact.
- Help improve or correct EH&S processes when directed or necessary to assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Provide technical and regulatory support to internal and external customers.
- Help promote EH&S cultural awareness to improve safety, hygiene, and environmental performance.
- Train employees on EH&S programs, including compliance training, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety.
- Ensure the new facilities are designed in compliance with environmental health & safety regulations.
- Comply with EBARA safety policies, including participation in and completion of all required safety training. (Essential)
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment compliant with Ebara safety policies. (Essential)

- The ability to perform the identified essential functions of the classification, including the operation of any machinery and/or equipment that is associated with performing the essential functions.
- The ability to perform the essential functions of the position in a cross‑cultural, demanding, and dynamic environment.
- The ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat of harm to him/herself, others, or property.
- The ability to adhere to EBARA personnel policies and practices, including the attendance and punctuality requirements.
- The ability to work well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines, and at all times demonstrate cooperative behaviour with colleagues and supervisors.
- 4‑yr degree in Environmental Sciences, Health and Safety, or Engineering (or equivalent experience) required.
- Safety Professional Certification (CHMM, ASP, or CSP).
- Six (6) + years of related work experience in Environmental Health and Safety, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Hazardous Waste (Manifests, Requirements, Safe Handling).
- Preference given if work experience includes Quality or Facilities Engineering (4 plus years) in a manufacturing facility.
- Chemical Safety, including Laboratory Safety, Process Safety (Hazard Assessment and Control).
- Experience working with Regulatory Agencies (OSHA, Fire Safety, Air Resources Board, etc.), including permitting and compliance inspections.
- Chemical Hygiene, including PPE Assessment, Exposure Control, and Industrial Hygiene Monitoring, Customer Site Audits, or Safety Evaluations.
- Emergency Response and Business Continuity Planning or Experience with SDS (Safety Data Sheet) management.
- Working knowledge of general policies and procedures.
- Strong Customer Relations skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with the ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal colleagues and customers.
- Demonstrated teamwork and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
