Staff Estimator / Cost Consultant – Sacramento, CA.

Key responsibilities include estimating, cost consulting, and value engineering from project inception through completion.

• Work with company estimating systems and processes.
• Apply estimating terminology, measures, concepts, and principles.
• Recognize impacts of processes, actions, and assumptions on project estimates.
• Prepare bid packages, conceptual estimates, and analyses of subcontractor bids.
• Assist in preparing larger and complex estimating assignments, including the Estimate Plan.
• Understand AECOM costing structure (overheads, G&A, insurance, etc.).
• Develop wage rate build‑ups.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Develop detailed material take‑offs for estimate development and field procurement.
• Create cash flow schedules and estimates.
• Survey market prices for construction materials and labor.
• Use software such as Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Trimble for cost estimates.
• Review subcontractor downtime and design changes for cost impact.
• Prepare estimates or quotations for change orders or design changes.
• Perform value engineering to identify cost savings.
• Compile and record related documents.
• Coordinate with subcontractors.
• Provide cost consulting from inception through completion and ongoing cost advice to clients at a portfolio level.

• Minimum:
  Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience in estimating/cost consulting.
• Preferred disciplines:
  Accounting, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or Finance.

$63,283.00 – $97,015.00, based on location and qualifications.
