Job SummaryLead with vision by providing senior-level technical leadership and project management for complex roadway and surface transportation projects across Northern California and the Bay Area.
Deliver excellence by overseeing end-to-end delivery of major roadway projects, ensuring successful management of scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality.
Grow the business by identifying and pursuing new transportation opportunities with Caltrans, Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), Bay Area Toll Authority (BATA), local counties and cities, transit agencies, and other public-sector clients throughout Northern California.
Build relationships by establishing and strengthening long-term client relationships with public agencies, teaming partners, and stakeholders across the Bay Area, Sacramento, and greater Northern California region.
Drive strategy by partnering with regional and sector leadership to align business development initiatives with TYLin’s broader transportation growth strategy.
Win work by leading and supporting proposals, interviews, and client presentations that showcase technical excellence, innovation, and a client-focused approach.
Inspire talent by mentoring and developing junior and mid-level engineers and project managers, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
Ability to do advanced corridor modelling on Civil 3D.
Responsibilities & Qualifications Education & LicensureBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
Active California Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe.
Experience10+ years of experience delivering roadway and highway projects.
Experience working with Caltrans, MTC, BATA, county transportation authorities, and Bay Area municipalities strongly preferred.
Technical ExpertiseStrong knowledge of Caltrans design standards, Highway Design Manual (HDM), Standard Plans and Specifications, and project development procedures.
Experience with Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build delivery methods preferred.
Leadership & Client SkillsProven project management and client-facing leadership experience.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Business development and proposal support experience preferred.
Collaboration & ValuesTeam-oriented leader who thrives in cross-functional environments.
Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and a solutions-driven mindset.
Additional InformationTYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $120,000 - $170,000 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills, experience, education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer.
