Who are we looking for?
The US West Region is looking for a motivated Staff Level Civil Engineer – Highways & Roads to join our growing team in California. This position can be located in any of our offices in CA or AZ. We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with the skills to assist in the delivery of highways, interchanges, local roads, roundabouts, trails / active transportation, bridges, and other vital improvements.
This position will be networked through our offices across the West Region.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Perform Engineering Design tasks: roadway and transportation projects from preliminary to final design, including geometric layouts, alignments, profiles, and typical cross-sections.
- Assist:
Cost Estimates, reports and technical memos - Improvement/Innovation:
Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them. - Engineering Standards Specification:
Support drafting of engineering standards and specifications and evaluate effectiveness. - Knowledge Management System:
Help others use knowledge management systems by offering support and advice. - Client & Customer Management (External):
Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships using relevant sales or client systems. - Data Collection and Analysis:
Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats; work independently. - Engineering Solutions Design:
Contribute to design of engineering solutions; plan feasibility testing and supervise implementation. - Personal Capability Building:
Develop own capabilities through assessment, development planning, training and coaching; gain/maintain external professional accreditation where relevant; stay informed on technology, regulation, and best practices. - Technical Developments Recommendation:
Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure. - Project Management:
Work within an established project management plan to achieve goals.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience
- Possession of an Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) Certificate, PE or ability to obtain PE within 12 months preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
Salary Range: $80,000-$133,000 based on experience.
