Job OverviewStantec is seeking a full‑time entry‑level Civil Engineer‑in‑Training to join our Community Development practice in Irvine and Sacramento, California. As you begin your career, you will prepare plans, specifications, and estimates for civil facilities (grading, roadways, drainage improvements, other support utilities, etc.) and assist with the implementation of these facilities on a wide variety of projects (residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, recreational, etc.).
You will work in a dynamic team setting to obtain applicable experience for your Professional Engineering License under the supervision and mentorship of experienced professionals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency and flexibility to work in both a team atmosphere and independent environment.
- Commitment to contribute to an organization where client service is a top priority.
- Prior experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Proven ability to maintain relationships of trust, teamwork, and accountability.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting, engaging in creative and critical thought.
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering or similar accredited engineering degree.
- Minimum of 1 year of engineering experience.
- EIT preferred or plans to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in the state of California or demonstrate the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

PayRange
- Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas – Min Salary $72,400 – Max Salary $101,300
- Locations in WA, DC & Various CA areas – Min Salary $77,600 – Max Salary $108,700
