This position will manage transportation planning projects and business development pursuits for a variety of transportation planning projects. These projects and pursuits may include multimodal corridor studies, long‑range planning, active transportation and travel demand management, travel demand modeling and forecasting, traffic analysis, and data analytics. This position will apply technical analysis and tools to develop findings and recommendations to inform decision making.

Ideal candidate will be proactive with a positive attitude and a willingness to take on new challenges and lead tasks.

What will you be doing?
  • Leading technical projects/tasks, reviewing technical work prepared by others, and conducting advanced analysis.
  • Working with multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of complex corridor studies, transit operations, area plans, system plans, and other technical transportation projects.
  • Develop new client relationships for DKS and build on current client relationships, including partnerships with other consulting firms.
  • Identifying new clients and develop business opportunities in order to achieve revenue targets.
  • Win and manage a variety of transportation planning‑analysis projects that you are passionate about, including all elements of the project life‑cycle (pre‑positioning, pursuit, negotiations, project planning, technical delivery, financial management, etc.).
  • Leading the development of project presentation materials, websites, and documents in coordination with creative services professionals.
  • Interfacing with clients, agency staff, and stakeholders and assure client satisfaction through implementation of our Client Experience (CX) and QC/QA initiatives.
  • Recruit top talent and mentor employee owners in their professional growth and enhancing their skills.
  • Identifying and leading business development pursuits for transportation planning projects.
  • Collaborating with teams across our nationwide offices.

What are we looking for?
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation, Urban and Regional Planning, or similar field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Transportation Engineering/Planning.
  • PE or similar license preferred, or the ability to achieve one in the near future.
  • Proficiency in project delivery and polishing work products to submit to clients.
  • Confidence in speaking to elected officials, public stakeholder groups, and clients.
  • Demonstrated technical and non‑technical professional writing proficiency.
  • Experience in project management and training junior‑level staff on project components.
  • Working knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
