Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a Collections Systems Senior Project Manager to be located in Northern California, including the cities of Oakland, Sacramento, or San Jose. This position will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in water engineering, focusing on wastewater collection systems (hydraulics, pipelines, pump stations, etc.). It is a seller/doer role responsible for supporting and developing the business line, including marketing, technical support, project development, and project management.
Prepare marketing plans, identify opportunities, assist with proposals, and attend interviews.
Prepare/review calculations, design criteria, technical memorandums, research, and present findings to clients. Prepare contract documents: plans, specifications, cost estimates, and schedules. Provide construction support to clients.
Support clients through all project phases: planning, design, construction, and operations. Prepare facility evaluations, alternative analyses, cost estimates, drawings, specifications, bid, and construction support.
Maintain project budgets and schedules. Manage multi-disciplinary project teams and sub-consultants. Projects include pipelines, pump stations, treatment, collections, storage, hydraulics, modeling, planning, design, operations, and maintenance.
Good communication skills and writing skills are critical for success.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BS Engineering – Civil/Mechanical with 10+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency.
- Licensed California PE or ME.
Preferred Requirements
- MS Degree in Engineering.
- Industry Leadership (AWWA, WEF, Hydraulics Institute, etc.).
- Senior Technical Leadership, Design Manager for Large Hydraulic Facilities.
- Engineering support during construction.
- Senior Project Manager Leadership for projects over $1M.
- Experience serving municipal water/wastewater agencies.
- Software skills: MS Office, CAD, Hydraulic and Hydrodynamic Modeling, Finite Element Analysis.
- Exceptional technical skills, excellent communication, and client service.
Additional Information
- Sponsorship and relocation are not provided.
- Compensation range: $180,000 - $260,000, based on location and qualifications.
