As a Design Engineer II in the Sacramento area, you’ll be the go-to expert for electrical distribution design and constructability, leading projects across overhead, underground, and system hardening initiatives. You’ll take start-to-finish ownership of projects, from performing pole loading calculations and conducting pole analysis, to updating maps, creating AutoCAD drawings, surveying existing facilities, and delivering construction-ready design packages to field teams.
You’ll frequently collaborate with internal teams, coordinating across multiple moving parts to keep projects on track and ensure quality and accuracy. You’ll also meet with clients and construction crews to review designs, discuss project execution, and ensure the final deliverables meet client expectations.
In addition to project delivery, you’ll serve as a technical leader, mentoring team members, reviewing designs, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the team’s knowledge and processes. This role combines hands‑on design work, client interaction, and team leadership, giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both projects and people.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- 3–5 years of experience in electrical distribution design
- Experience with design review, client‑facing support, and construction coordination
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SAP, O-Calc
, and other utility design software (AUD preferred)

- This position pays between $77,000and $80,000 annually and is an exempt position. Benefits offered include company‑sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. Also offered are tuition reimbursement, voluntary life, disability, critical illness,accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts andFSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually. Full‑time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours.
May be eligible for discretionary bonus asdeterminedby the company.
