• Investigate vehicles, equipment, and accident sites to document evidence and determine the scope of damage.
• Assess damages due to mechanical failures and determine the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support.
• Research, evaluate, analyze, and test the causation of accidents and failures.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to produce detailed reports outlining the cause of the accident.
• Serve as an expert witness in court and/or depositions.
• Document and maintain billable hours on a time‑and‑expense basis for failure analysis and forensic engineering projects.
• Collaborate with EFI Global’s national team of forensic experts to leverage collective experience and assist on projects.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and support the organization’s quality programs.

• Travel as required.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in force.
• Six (6) years of experience in vehicle accident reconstruction, mechanical failure analysis, or related field.
• ACTAR certification preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and PC‑literate.
• Analytical, interpretive, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team and meet performance competencies.

• Must stand, walk, kneel, squat or bend for long periods; lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
• Work outdoors in hot and/or cold weather; ability to drive up to 4 hours per day.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and maintaining judgment under stress.
