Core Responsibilities- Investigate vehicles, equipment, and accident sites to document evidence and determine the scope of damage.
- Assess damages due to mechanical failures and determine the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support.
- Research, evaluate, analyze, and test the causation of accidents and failures.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to produce detailed reports outlining the cause of the accident.
- Serve as an expert witness in court and/or depositions.
- Document and maintain billable hours on a time‑and‑expense basis for failure analysis and forensic engineering projects.
- Collaborate with EFI Global’s national team of forensic experts to leverage collective experience and assist on projects.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and support the organization’s quality programs.
- Travel as required.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in force.
- Six (6) years of experience in vehicle accident reconstruction, mechanical failure analysis, or related field.
- ACTAR certification preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and PC‑literate.
- Analytical, interpretive, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team and meet performance competencies.
Physical Requirements
- Must stand, walk, kneel, squat or bend for long periods; lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
- Work outdoors in hot and/or cold weather; ability to drive up to 4 hours per day.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and maintaining judgment under stress.
