Key Responsibilities- Perform preliminary assessments and concept creation.
- Resolve internal and external problems and produce drawings and specifications.
- Ensure customer and vendor accessibility; act as the EoR for designs.
- Provide coverage for Project leads and, depending on bandwidth, lead projects.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and ensure timely completion.
- Lead BIM designers in preparation of engineering drawings.
- Create or modify DIV 27 specifications.
- Conduct site visits and review technical documents.
- Sign and seal telecommunications design packages.
- Mentor other team members and work with leads to identify process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience designing or leading designs for telecommunications structured cabling systems.
- Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA, BICSI, and NFPA 70 standards.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam.
- Strong project management skills and self‑motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers, and clients.
- Experience responding to RFPs and performing quality assurance of telecommunications systems designed by others.
- Experience with startup and commissioning of telecommunications systems.
- Ability to create budgets, maintain schedules, and identify and mitigate company risk.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license; multiple licenses or ability to obtain them is required.
- 4 years of telecommunications design experience in data centers.
- Experience with low‑voltage systems, including security, audio/visual, and wireless.
- Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design platforms.
- Knowledge of telecom infrastructure for controls and security systems.
- Experience with CSI or AIA specification writing procedures.
- Credential as an RCDD.
