Job Summary

Please note:

must be able to travel between San Francisco, Santa Clara and Sacramento. Duration through June 30, 2026; includes optional medical benefits, holiday pay and sick leave accrual.

Under the supervision of the Deputy Director of the Training & Health Equity Collaborative (THE Collaborative), the Training Manager is responsible for the implementation of training offerings pertaining to the Alameda County Training Academy scope. The Training Manager is a member of THE Collaborative’s project management team and is responsible for developing, administering, and managing specific training work in the group.

The Training Manager will assist in overseeing training partners in delivering effective education, training, and capacity-building assistance programs. With guidance from the senior management team, this role serves as the key liaison for the Alameda County Training Academy subject-matter expert bench, requiring ongoing communication and relationship management with program staff and faculty. The Training Manager will identify areas of support, provide guidance and technical assistance, and review annual scopes of work and reports.

They will implement the training and technical assistance plan for the Training Academy, including asynchronous and web-based learning projects. They will collaborate to prepare regular progress reports for funders and assist in competitive applications. They will develop collaborative relationships with staff within other THE Collaborative training programs, UCSF, and the broader capacity-building community.

Key Responsibilities Training Management
  • Oversee implementation of training deliverables, provide feedback and guidance to ensure work plans align with program goals; provide technical assistance and support as needed, collaborating with the subject-matter expert team in the development and implementation of training modules, policies, objectives, and strategies related to the Training Academy.
  • Develop and deliver training modules that support capacity-building activities of the Training Academy.
  • Liaise with community-based partners, training partners, and collaborators such as Federal Training Centers and URM-serving organizations.
  • Provide guidance and support for a pool of subject-matter experts who work with the Training Academy.
  • Review, analyze, and provide feedback on trainers and subcontractors’ progress reports; consolidate and summarize progress reports.
  • Hold recurring calls with Training Academy partners.
  • Manage Training Academy technical assistance and training plan, including asynchronous webinars and technical assistance series.
  • Facilitate and participate in planning groups, convenings, webinars, meetings, and conferences on behalf of THE Collaborative.
  • Assist senior management in short-term and long-range training planning and objective setting for the training portfolio.
Training Administration
  • Participate as a member of the project management team; contribute to vision, planning, and monitoring for the portfolio.
  • Review subject-matter subcontractor scopes of work for annual contracts and purchase orders.
  • Participate in monthly monitoring calls as needed.
  • Participate in the development of progress reporting for THE Collaborative.
  • Participate in refining the Training Academy implementation strategy.
  • Collaborate with the program team to implement the social media strategy of the Training Academy.
Training Evaluation
  • Assist the Evaluation Manager and Deputy Director in implementing an evaluation plan and needs assessment.
  • Assist with needs assessment data reconciliation for program planning.
  • Participate in analyzing training data with the project management team to refine training goals and initiatives.

Note: The final salary and offer components are subject to UC policy approvals. Placement within the salary range depends on work experience and internal equity. For represented positions, placement follows the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
