Overview
Title: Program Coordinator
Status: Non-Exempt:
Full-time
Reports to: Associate Director of Programs
Description: With limited supervision, the Program Coordinator leads and / or supports educational, advocacy, and mentoring programs with youth and program partner participants. This position is responsible for recruiting and/or retaining participants, the coordination and implementation of successful program components and creating positive community partnerships. Will collaborate with school site administration, community program coordinators, and other agency representatives as needed to engage and support program and participants.
This person will be a high-energy, results- oriented, self-starting leader, capable of quickly taking control and assisting with needs.
- Maintain daily detailed communication with Supervisor via the utilization of Teams chat, email, excel documentation, and calendar documentation.
- Maintain detailed and thorough communication with program participants, partners and clients, while accommodating communication modes.
- Maintain record of communication with all external parties.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, community partners, leaders, systems, and youth.
- Maintain rapport and build new partnerships with youth serving systems.
- Represent the agency at community meetings and events in a professional manner.
- Implement direct services of assigned program including recruitment / outreach, facilitation and planning of program meetings and supervision of youth participants 10-24 years old.
- Present program curriculum for assigned program(s) which will include the following topics:
Healthy relationships, substance use prevention, mental health and wellness, workforce readiness, sex education, mentoring, etc. - Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, community partners, leaders, parents, school administration, and youth.
- Make appropriate referrals for students and their families for community resources.
- Implement program evaluation and monitoring tasks as identified.
- Administer student information database and completes required reports.
- Represent the agency at community meetings and events in a professional manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
- This role is a mandated reporter; training will be provided.

- Youth engagement, group facilitation / coordination.
- Knowledge of community resources and school programs.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Supervisory responsibility of program participants.
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers. Self- reliant, good problem solver, results oriented. Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs.
- Communicate and work effectively with program staff, requiring tact, diplomacy, discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
- Analyze situations and carry out appropriate and effective action based on established procedures.
- Work independently, set priorities, develop goals and actively seek out program resources.
- Have access to reliable transportation
- Initiate work and projects with minimal direction.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills that simplify and easily communicate concepts and issues.
- Work efficiently and effectively in a team environment as well as independently as a self-starter.
- Ability to apply critical thinking while executing transactions and tasks.
- Manage multiple projects with conflicting deadlines simultaneously.
- Bilingual skills not required but appreciated.
- Have access to reliable transportation.
- Capable of providing Employment Eligibility Verification.
- Thorough knowledge of general office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
- Complete and pass a background screening.
- Possess a Valid California Driver’s license and evidence of insurance coverage.
- Mandatory program / job requirement training.
- Criminal justice fingerprint clearance.
- Valid government issued identification / driver’s license.
- Proof of current vehicle insurance.
- Tuberculosis testing mandatory.
- Daily regional travel to program sites
