Position: 2025-26 AY Lecturer Pool - Gerontology

The Department of Gerontology at Sacramento State is seeking applicants for a Lecturer Pool in Gerontology for the 2025-26 academic year. The Gerontology Program offers an applied interdisciplinary approach to studying aging and the challenges faced by older adults and their families in contemporary society.

Position Details: Duties include instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours. Additional duties may be assigned based on departmental needs. Course assignments are scheduled by the Department Chair under the College Dean's guidance. Appointments are typically for one semester, with the possibility of renewal depending on needs, funding, and performance.

Rank and Salary: Initial rank and salary are based on experience and education, with ranges as of July 2024:

  • Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677
  • Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224
  • Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523
  • Lecturer D: $8,593 - $15,211

Salary is pro-rated based on the units assigned out of 15 WTUs per semester.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Gerontology or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Gerontology or a related field.
  • Professional experience working with older adults and/or caregivers.
