Instruction of lower and upper division environmental studies courses. We are particularly seeking qualified and experienced instructors for the following topics:
- Introduction to Environmental Science (ENVS 10)
- Environmental Issues & Critical Thinking (ENVS 11)
- International Environmental Issues (ENVS 112 – writing intensive)
- Quantitative Methods in Environmental Science (ENVS 120)
- Environmental Impact Analysis: CEQA & NEPA (ENVS 122)
Duties of a part‑time lecturer include instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours. Course assignments, dates, times, and modality are determined by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean. Additional duties may be assigned based on departmental needs.
Appointment & CompensationPart‑time lecturers are appointed on a conditional basis with initial appointments typically for one semester, occasionally for an academic year. Appointments may be renewed based on departmental needs, funding, and performance.
Salary is based on a full‑time rate (15 weighted teaching units) and paid in six equal checks. For example, a Lecturer A assigned 3 units at the minimum salary is paid $6,608.40 per semester.
Required Qualifications● Master’s degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications● Previous college‑level teaching experience and evidence of teaching effectiveness.
● Experience with undergraduate student research supervision.
● A list of three professional references with contact information.
