This role is a full‑time position with a base pay range of $90,000.00/yr to $/yr. The final salary will be based on your skills and experience, and you may also be eligible for the company’s Annual Bonus Plan.

Trade Specialist – BIM/VDC Workflow Manager

The Trade Specialist manages the BIM/VDC workflow for all projects. Their main responsibilities include establishing methods for detailing, kitting, fabrication, and installation, and providing support to the Foreman and Operations throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain clear communication between VC, Manufacturing, Operations, and field teams.
  • Supervise Modelers, BIM Technicians, and Detailers, ensuring all deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Identify manufacturing opportunities for each project.
  • Work with the VDC Manager and VC Coordinator to establish KPIs for tracking VC budget, additional VC hours, quantity of work orders, and deliverable due dates.
  • Complete a "feedback loop" through periodic contact with the field to assist in coordination and quality control.
  • Establish means & methods for assemblies, prefabrication, kitting, and installation practices.
  • Identify Mark III standard materials and products based on price, availability, and methods to create a standard submittal library.
  • Support designers by developing details, sizing, code compliance for design‑build, and integrated projects for permit submittal.
  • Identify construction requirements based on estimate, scope, contract, and specifications.
  • Define BIM scope of work and procure necessary design and trade partner CAD/Revit files.
  • Create value engineering solutions, including design alternatives and cost quantification.
  • Establish VDC scope of work and budgeted hours, documenting each deliverable with a VC Scope Letter.
  • Keep the VDC Manager informed of changes to the original scope throughout the process.
  • Compile data from internal project meetings, including schedules and work orders, to coordinate manufacturing in Stratus.
  • Create and maintain project folders for all VC deliverables.
  • Support field personnel before and during construction, translating design intent and explaining installation drawings.
  • Assist the VDC Manager in developing measurable goals for employee improvement and advancement.
  • Lead the team in implementing standard assemblies, products, and naming conventions.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years experience in commercial/industrial construction.
  • 5 + years experience as a foreman managing projects, personnel, schedules, budgets, and scopes.
  • Technologically savvy and open to learning new software and technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of trade‑specific codes and general building codes.
  • Proficient in cross‑referencing plans across all trades.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment while supervising large teams.
Non‑Required Bonus Skills
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Experience with 3D design & collaboration software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud‑based platforms (Procore, Revizto, ACC, Box, etc.).
  • Experience in BIM/VDC workflows.
  • Experience with industrialized construction and off‑site manufacturing.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
