Job Description And DutiesEffective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) requires a 3 % base salary reduction and 5 hours of leave credits monthly for full‑time employees. Part‑time employees and permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same conditions on a prorated basis. Limited term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
Under the direction of the Supervising Dentist, Correctional Facility or the Prison Industries Superintendent II (Dental Laboratory), the Industrial Supervisor, Prison Industries (Dental Laboratory) is responsible for the production and the fabrication of prosthetic devices for incarcerated persons in a dental laboratory within a correctional facility.
Responsibilities- Direct and oversee the daily operations of the dental laboratory, ensuring high‑quality prosthetic device production.
- Manage and supervise entry‑level staff or inmates, providing training and guidance.
- Coordinate with the Supervising Dentist and other departments to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards.
- Document production metrics, labor allocation, and maintain records.
- Two years of experience in the fabrication of the full range of dental prosthetic products; at least one year in a lead capacity over entry‑level staff or inmates in a correctional facility.
- Education, such as trade school, vocational education or a major in the trade at the community college, college, or university level may substitute for the required experience, with two years of education equal to one year of required work experience. Such education must include two years of coursework in the specified industrial operation.
Promotional candidates within six months of meeting the minimum qualifications must complete the required experience before being eligible for appointment. Candidates must take and pass the examination:
