KXTV/ABC
10 Sacramento (TEGNA owned, ABC affiliate) is looking for an experienced Sports Multi-Skilled Journalist/Anchor to drive our coverage of high-stakes, high-interest sports across Northern California. This position offers the opportunity to cover a wide range of athletics, from Friday night high school action to all Northern California NBA/NFL/MLB including college programs competing on the national stage. We are looking for a journalist who can anchor with authority, report with creativity, and connect locally with sports fans across all platforms.

This role produces content for linear newscasts, streaming and mobile. If you are a storyteller who sees sports as more than highlights and understands the power of compelling, contextual reporting, we want to hear from you. Current driver s license and ability to operate news gathering vehicle to and from various locations is required.

• Anchor and produce sports segments across multiple newscasts with an authoritative, energetic, and engaging delivery
• Perform compelling live shots from games, press conferences, watch parties, practices, and breaking sports news situations
• Provide clear, concise context around key moments, developments, and controversies
• Enterprise sports stories that go beyond the scoreboard — features, profiles, explainers, and deeper coverage of issues shaping local athletics
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with coaches, players, athletic departments, and community sports leaders
• Create platform-specific content for ABC
  10’s streaming app as part of our growing streaming strategy
• Produce mobile-first sports (vertical video) updates and explainers
• Break sports news on digital first and engage audiences with timely posts, threads, and updates.

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field preferred
• 3-5 years of on-air sports reporting or anchoring experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to shoot, write, and edit high-quality sports stories under tight deadlines
• Excellent news and sports judgment, effective communication skills, and sound ethical decision-making
• Ability to thrive during live breaking news situations (coaching changes, major announcements, postseason runs)
• Proven ability to create compelling digital and social content
• Must be organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable juggling multiple assignments daily
• Familiarity with vMix, EDIUS, and Axis graphics is a plus
• Knowledge of California, specifically Sacramento and Bay Area sports culture is a plus

$31.25—$36.06 USD
