Established General Engineering firm seeks Estimator (Asphalt/Concrete). This Jobot Job is hosted by:

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects or services.
• Conduct site visits and gather all necessary data to create an accurate estimate.
• Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Utilize software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Prepare detailed reports or bids for management, clients, or contractors.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and contractors on estimates.
• Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it's more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
• Track the cost of fixed assets, compare actual costs to estimates, and identify reasons for cost overruns.
• Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in estimating asphalt/concrete and paving.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
• Proficient in relevant software, such as On-Screen Takeoff.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proven experience with contract management, asphalt maintenance, estimating, site visits, quality material control, cost management, and paving.
• Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a team and independently when required.
