SUMMARY:
- We are seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to lead the field execution of commercial construction projects. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong organizational and leadership skills who can deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is collaborative, solution-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced commercial environments
- Implement and manage on-site execution of job plans in coordination with the Project Manager and General Superintendent
- Organize and oversee project site logistics, including signage, security, and material staging
- Develop, manage, and update project schedules on a weekly basis
- Coordinate RFIs, submittals, and construction drawings with project teams
- Lead weekly subcontractor meetings and participate in client and design partner meetings
- Promote and enforce job site safety policies; develop and implement safety plans in collaboration with the General Superintendent
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and proactively address job site safety concerns
- Maintain accurate daily logs of subcontractor activity and job progress using project management software (e.g., Autodesk or Procore)
- Manage scope, sequencing, and schedule changes in the field
- Ensure compliance with company procedures related to safety, quality, and schedule commitments
- Participate in punch walks and project closeout activities
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, clients, and industry professionals
Experience & Skills:
- At least 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction (10+ years preferred)
- Preferred:
Experience delivering projects for well-established, top-tier commercial general contractors in the Sacramento region or Bay Area, demonstrating familiarity with complex scopes, high standards, and sophisticated clients - Proven track record managing projects across multiple commercial sectors
- Strong understanding of commercial construction sequencing, drawings, and specifications
- Solid knowledge of foundations, structural framing, MEP systems, and system coordination
- Familiarity with fire protection, sprinkler, alarm, and life safety systems
- Experience working in occupied Class A buildings
- Ability to manage multiple smaller projects concurrently
- Strong safety record and experience overseeing self-performed work
- Ability to operate with urgency while maintaining quality and attention to detail
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team coordination skills
- Proficiency in MS Office;
Microsoft Project experience preferred - Experience with field-based project management platforms, particularly Autodesk or Procore, strongly preferred
- OSHA 30 preferred (or willingness to obtain during onboarding)
- LEED Green Associate accreditation or higher is a plu
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Valid Driver's License required
