Business Development Representative - Sacramento, CA

Compensation: $28 to $30 per hour plus Commission

Full-time, plus benefits

Nexus HR is looking for a young, motivated, energetic, and growth-hungry sales professional who is willing to call and ready to work towards growth and innovation in the HR Services industry.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a young, driven professional who is eager to build a career in B2B sales and develop strong client relationships while learning about business operations and people management services.

About the Job

As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for introducing companies to our HR, Payroll, Recruitment, Bookkeeping, and Staffing solutions, helping them streamline operations and focus on growth. You will work closely with experienced professionals, receive hands-on training, and develop valuable skills in sales, client management, and business consulting.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for HR, Payroll, Recruitment, Bookkeeping, and Staffing services
  • Generate leads through cold calling, email outreach, networking, and social media
  • Present and explain service offerings clearly to prospective clients
  • Understand client needs and recommend appropriate service solutions
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and follow up on sales inquiries
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and prospects
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
  • Coordinate with internal HR, payroll, recruitment, and operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions in CRM systems
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, HR, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 0–3 years of experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence in presenting services and negotiating with clients
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to learn
  • Basic understanding of HR or business services is a plus (training will be provided)
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with CRM tools are advantages
