The mission of the Immigrant Integration Branch (IIB) is to provide state level leadership, direction, and coordination of programs and services to ensure competent and effective immigration legal services and to achieve successful resettlement and self-sufficiency for refugees and other eligible recipients. The IIB advises the Department on the immigration policies impacting COSS programs, supervises county administration of refugee resettlement programs, and administers funding for immigration legal services.

The Immigration Services Bureau (ISB) ensures the effective development, promulgation, and implementation of policies necessary for the administration of the Department's immigration legal services and outreach and education and other special programs for immigrants.

Job Description And Duties

The Immigration Services Bureau at the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) is seeking highly motivated, passionate, self-starters who can develop and implement policies to ensure effective procedures for implement immigration programs related to legal services, education and outreach, and other special programs for immigrants.

Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the Analyst II is responsible for administrative and operational functions including developing and formalizing operational processes and procedures, leading grant/contract process and compliance oversight, and coordination with administrative partners to improve workflows. The Analyst II also leads research, analysis, and implementation of automated systems to improve program efficiency and efficacy.

This is a 12‑month limited term position and may be extended to a maximum of 24 months and/or may become permanent based on operational needs.

Associate Governmental Program Analyst / Analyst II

Title change and probationary period will be 12 months effective January 1, 2026.
