Job Description and Duties
Under the supervision of the Supervising Workers' Compensation Consultant (SWCC), and receiving general direction from the Workers' Compensation Manager, the Office Technician (Typing) will learn and perform a wide range of clerical duties related to the administration of the Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) Program following the established procedures of the Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) Medical Unit. The Office Technician (Typing) is responsible for timely processing of incoming and outgoing mail and other correspondence, accurate processing of QME panel requests in accordance with applicable Labor Codes and regulations, and effective communication and customer service in interactions with coworkers and the public.

Once formal training has concluded, part-time telework may be offered upon approval by the Medical Unit Manager and consistent with the Department of Industrial Relations' Telework Policy.

Working Conditions
This position is located at: 1515 Clay St., Oakland, CA 94612.
The OT(T) works in a smoke-free DWC Office under LED lighting, controlled temperature, quiet to moderate noise levels; equipped with cubicles computer, and other office equipment. Ability to retrieve and transport legacy box files in a safe manner.
