The Accounting Administrator (AA) I (Specialist) designs and delivers training for FI$Cal system users. This role provides expert guidance on accounting modules, leads training sessions, and ensures users understand system processes. The AA I (Specialist) works with departments and IT teams to develop materials, document processes, and improve training methods to support system updates and organizational goals.

At FI$Cal, a remote-centered position with telework up to three days per week is available. In-office attendance is mandatory on designated days and may change. Our office is located at 2000 Evergreen Street, Sacramento, CA. Candidates residing outside of California are welcome to interview, but proof of California residency is required before appointment. relocation and commute expenses are the employee’s responsibility.
This position requires prolonged sitting in an office environment with the use of a personal computer. All staff must maintain regular, consistent, predictable attendance and adhere to policies and procedures.

FI$Cal modernizes how the state of California manages its finances and integrates accounting, budgeting, cash management, and procurement into a single system. The department has four divisions:
Administrative Services, Business Operation & Solutions, Information Technology and Executive. This position is located in the Business Operation & Solutions Division (BOSD), which ensures effective delivery and positive reception of the FI$Cal solution and supports month-end and year-end close.
