We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team.

Are you self-motivated? Independent? Under the direction of the Compliance Unit Supervisor I, the Office Technician-Typing (OT) provides clerical and administrative support to the Bureau of Household Goods and Services.

Working Conditions

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview. However, they must reside in the State of California once they are hired and start working.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period as outlined on "Section 2113 - Personal Leave Program (PLP)" of the CalHR Manual.

The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.

The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting, with artificial light and temperature control. The ability to use a personal computer and telephone is essential. Computer work is constant and may be repetitive. Incumbent is required to type a minimum of 40 words per minute. The Compliance Unit OT's work area is located in the Support Services reception area.

The incumbent must be able to effectively use Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Hybrid telework is available based on operational needs and is subject to change. On March 3, 2025, Governor Gavin Newsom issued Executive Order N-22-25, which requires departments to adopt a four day per week default in-person requirement beginning July 1, 2025.
