Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Sacramento, California. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to work on diverse accounting projects while contributing to the success of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in accounting and the ability to manage complex financial tasks with precision and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure data integrity.

- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

- Conduct bank transaction research and reconcile bank accounts.

- Support grant accounting processes, including tracking and reporting.

- Build and refine reports to integrate advertising sub-ledger data into Net Suite.

- Collaborate on reporting for political action committees and state lobbying commissions.

- Assist with investment statement analysis and reporting.

- Provide coverage for team members on leave, ensuring seamless operations.

- Identify and implement process improvements for enhanced efficiency. Requirements - Extensive experience in month-end close and general ledger reconciliation.

- Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliation.

- Strong knowledge of Net Suite and its functionalities.

- Familiarity with grant accounting and investment statement analysis.

- Ability to research and resolve complex bank transactions.

- Experience in creating and refining financial reports.

- Knowledge of political action committee and lobbying commission reporting requirements.

- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
