The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. The Human Resources Technology System (HRTS) is an intuitive, user‑friendly system that provides applicants with real‑time updates throughout the hiring process. Candidates will need to set up an account to track their application, provide additional information, and schedule interviews. After the final filing date, applicants will receive an email from the official CD address with instructions on creating or accessing their account.

Working Conditions

This position requires a combination of telework and in‑office work in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment and will be required to report to the office as needed.

Special Requirements

Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, and fiscal management
  • Experience overseeing accurate and timely month‑end and year‑end closing activities
  • Experience managing or leading a team
  • Strong knowledge of governmental accounting standards (GAAP, SAM, UCM, Government Code)
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with internal teams and external control agencies and auditors
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, variances, and problem areas and implement improvement solutions
  • Strong organization and time‑management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Access, Teams, Power BI, etc.) and automated accounting systems
