Overview
Under general supervision, the Auditor performs a wide variety of professional County-wide audit and attest duties such as reviewing account records and documents for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, preparing analytical, accounting and narrative reports, and fiscal monitoring for County departments, special districts, vendors, contractors and other parties that do business with the County of Sacramento.
Responsibilities- Review account records and documents for compliance with GAAP and auditing standards.
- Prepare analytical, accounting and narrative reports.
- Conduct fiscal monitoring of County departments and partners.
- Apply project management principles to audit planning and scheduling.
- Apply internal control and audit framework guidelines.
- Assist non-accounting staff in preparation of accounting records.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a concentration in Accountancy, or higher.
- Possession of a current valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license from the State of California Board of Accountancy may substitute for the required bachelor's degree.
- Knowledge of GAAS, GAAP, GAGAS, federal and state laws, and internal control frameworks.
- Experience in governmental audit and budget preparation.
- Strong analytical, statistical and financial data skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
