Job Title: Distribution Material Handler

Base Rate: $22.50 per hour

Shift: 2nd shift, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Note: Starting times and hours may vary depending on coverage due to report-offs and the production schedule, especially during holidays.

• Under direct supervision, maintain the integrity of the warehouse, receive, store, pick, load and distribute products and POS materials.
• Accurately load and unload trailers of palletized and non-palletized product and POS material. Utilize manual and power material handling equipment.
• Sort and place products or POS materials on racks or shelves according to predetermined designated locations.
• Accurately assemble customer orders from stock, place orders on pallets, wrap pallets with stretch film and prepare for shipping.
• Label incoming products with identifying information (Date Code, Product Description and Code, Case Count).
• Label outgoing products with identifying information (Route #/BIN Location, Pallet Count).
• Verify amounts of product/POS materials received.
• Use technology (RF scanning and voice picking equipment) during local checkout process according to Company Operation Guidelines.
• Operate material handling equipment to transport stored items within the warehouse.
• Prepare and organize the warehouse for daily cycle count inventory and shopping activities.
• Complete daily maintenance power equipment checklist and report defective equipment.

Practices and adheres to appropriate safety, food safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection. Keeps work area clean and removes trash from the work area floor. Stores supplies in designated areas. Keeps work area aisles/exits clear and free from obstructions. Follows instructions for safe lifting/carrying of various sizes, shapes, and weights; identifies/reports defective equipment. Reports all job-related injuries/property damage to supervision.

Supports and participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives including 5S (sort, set, shine, standardize, and sustain).

Education/

Experience:

High School Diploma or GED and/or one year of experience. May perform other duties as required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.

Individual base pay depends on work location and factors such as experience, job-related skills, and education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
