Long-Term Substitute Music Teacher
Immediate opening for a long-term substitute Music teacher anticipated start date beginning May 18th, 2026.
Successful candidates will fill a long term substitute role within the Arts department at the Upper and Middle School.
Teaching AssignmentChoir and choral classes with an ability to play accompanying piano.
Job DescriptionAccountability:
Classroom teachers are overseen by the Associate Head, and report directly to either the Principal (middle school) or the Assistant Head for Faculty and Academic Affairs (upper school) in fulfilling all responsibilities.
Long term substitutes take on a teaching role by working individually and collaboratively with existing content to: deliver appropriate, meaningful, and coherent learning experiences that match, challenge and extend students’ knowledge and skills; assess student progress regularly through a range of methods; incorporate digital age tools and resources to apply learning to authentic, real‑world problems; and utilize best practices and assessment data in planning and delivering curriculum and instruction.
QualificationsDesired
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in appropriate field
- Two or more years of teaching experience preferred but not required
- State certification preferred but not required
- Letter of interest
- Current resume

- Unofficial/student‑issued transcripts are acceptable for initial application; official transcripts may be requested later.
