Special Education Teacher at Saco Pre-K

Position

Purpose:

The Pre‑K Special Education Teacher will work with students on skills related to IEP goals to help student readiness for kindergarten.

• Maine Dept. of Education Teacher Certification (081/282)
• Background in special education, knowledge of teaching developmental/functional life skills, and specially designed instructional strategies.
• Experience with behavioral strategies and differentiation according to student needs and levels.
• Use of multi-modality approaches and multiple models to support students' needs effectively.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a team of educational technicians and related service providers.
• Ability to comply with mandated regulations and compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Responsible for data entry and CINC management of student hours performed.

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the summer administrative team and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
