We are a therapeutic preschool program that provides school-based services for children, ages 3-5, with Autism and complex developmental challenges. The job is fast‑paced, active, different every day and rewarding beyond measure. In this role, you will work 1:1 with students to implement plans that teach communication, social, emotional, cognitive, and self‑help skills. You will collaborate with Special Education Teachers, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Speech‑Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists to support all aspects of children's development. Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) training is provided upon hire.
Schedule: 7:30 am – 3:30 pm, full‑time spanning the regular school year. A week‑long paid orientation training is provided upon hire.
Salary: $20.00–$24.00 per hour, based on experience and other job criteria.
- Work 1:1 with students diagnosed with Autism and developmental disorders in the preschool classroom setting.
- Teach targeted skills in the areas of communication, social interaction, play, emotional regulation, self‑help/adaptive and cognitive skills.
- Implement educational and behavioral treatment plans throughout the school day.
- Assist in tasks required to manage the classroom environment and promote student learning.
- Collect and record data on progress and complete required paperwork to document services daily.
- Collaborate with BCBAs, Speech‑Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists around interventions, progress and ongoing challenges of students.
- Participate in regular supervision and debriefing meetings (both team and individual).
Our Ed Tech III must have or be eligible for Maine Department of Education Educational Technician III certification by having earned a bachelor’s degree (preferred) or by having earned a minimum of 90 college credits.
