Staff Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with experience in a manufacturing environment and strong ERP system skills. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, assist with cost and inventory accounting, and ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, systems‑savvy, and comfortable working cross‑functionally with operations and supply chain teams.

• Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaids, allocations)
• Perform monthly bank, account, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure data accuracy
• Support internal and external audit requests

• Assist with inventory accounting, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
• Support standard costing updates and variance analysis
• Reconcile inventory sub‑ledger to the general ledger
• Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counts
• Analyze production and material usage reports

• Utilize ERP systems (such as Sage, SAP ERP, Oracle Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Infor Cloud Suite) to process transactions and generate reports
• Maintain data integrity within ERP financial and inventory modules
• Assist in ERP system improvements, testing, and upgrades
• Develop and maintain recurring financial and operational reports
• Troubleshoot ERP‑related discrepancies and support end users

• Review and reconcile vendor and customer accounts
• Support invoice processing, payment runs, and cash application
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Exposure to cost accounting and inventory management preferred
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems required

• Strong ERP proficiency, particularly in financial and inventory modules
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas)
• Experience with reporting tools or data analysis software is a plus

• Experience participating in ERP implementations or system conversions
• Understanding of standard costing methodologies
• CPA eligibility or pursuit of professional certification is a plus
