Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with experience in a manufacturing environment and strong ERP system skills. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, assist with cost and inventory accounting, and ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, systems‑savvy, and comfortable working cross‑functionally with operations and supply chain teams.
Position SummaryKey Responsibilities General Accounting
- Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaids, allocations)
- Perform monthly bank, account, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure data accuracy
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Assist with inventory accounting, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
- Support standard costing updates and variance analysis
- Reconcile inventory sub‑ledger to the general ledger
- Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counts
- Analyze production and material usage reports
- Utilize ERP systems (such as Sage, SAP ERP, Oracle Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Infor Cloud Suite) to process transactions and generate reports
- Maintain data integrity within ERP financial and inventory modules
- Assist in ERP system improvements, testing, and upgrades
- Develop and maintain recurring financial and operational reports
- Troubleshoot ERP‑related discrepancies and support end users
- Review and reconcile vendor and customer accounts
- Support invoice processing, payment runs, and cash application
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Exposure to cost accounting and inventory management preferred
- Hands‑on experience with ERP systems required
- Strong ERP proficiency, particularly in financial and inventory modules
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas)
- Experience with reporting tools or data analysis software is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical and problem‑solving mindset
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Proactive and process‑improvement oriented
- Experience participating in ERP implementations or system conversions
- Understanding of standard costing methodologies
- CPA eligibility or pursuit of professional certification is a plus
