Job Description: The Assistant Store Manager is an experienced leader who manages the day-to-day service, sales, and operational objectives in a Store location. The role is focused on leading a team to grow and deepen customer relationships by delivering TD’s model of convenience, sales and advice, and differentiating with a personalized, connected experience. This role can lead the Store with minimal direction and has the knowledge and experience to make decisions for day-to-day work on the teller line or platform.
Responsibilities(Depth & Scope)
- Leads a team of advice and service colleagues in the achievement of individual and Store objectives that result in legendary customer and colleague experience, and achievement of established performance goals.
- Provides day-to-day team leadership to ensure effective/efficient delivery of personalized/complex service and advice activities and/or solutions while maintaining compliance and regulatory guidelines.
- Leads the team in overseeing the most complex or diverse sales and advice activities across multiple steps and systems with partners and complexity.
- Has knowledge and understanding of financial concepts, a broad range of products and services, and applies TD s consultative approach to deliver end-to-end customer advice (build trust with educational content, provide consultative support, and offer proactive insights and recommendations).
- Drives and reinforces advice activities/capability through coaching, oversight, and communication to ensure proactive product recommendations based on customer needs.
- Maintains knowledge of the local market, competitive offers, and economic trends to support advice recommendations.
- Handles high-risk issues and determines appropriate resolutions.
- Coaches the team on advice-giving strategies and product/service acumen; delivers end-to-end advice and tools for financial management.
- Delivers advice with the goal of helping customers achieve their goals and deepening relationships; participates in community events to promote the TD brand.
- Manages lead generation activities including self-generated leads, partner referrals, outbound outreach, and appointment hosting.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years experience working with customers and/or sales in any capacity or equivalent
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Sales and Operational Management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Previous consumer and residential lending experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of banking products and services preferred
- Demonstrated organization, interpersonal, communication and decision-making skills
- Notary License (Preferred)
- Must maintain an active registration status with NMLS upon hire to engage in conversations about loan products
- Customer Accountabilities: Creates a warm, engaging environment; actively listens and asks clarifying questions; attracts, acquires, and retains customers and referrals.
- Maintains effective scheduling to meet customer demand and compliance requirements.
- Escalates and resolves customer problems; provides guidance to help customers achieve their goals.
- Supports adherence to TD s Customer Service Strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Shareholder Accountabilities: Oversees store operations, compliance, audits, and risk management; ensures accurate documentation and timely completion of processes; participates in process improvement.
- Employee/Team Accountabilities: Leads and develops a high-performing team; aligns with TD s commitments; supports recruitment, diversity, and performance management; acts as a brand champion.
- This position falls under the definition of Loan Originator as defined under Regulation Z and related SAFE Act guidelines. Must be eligible for employment with a covered financial institution and for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator (NMLS). Requirements include satisfactory background and credit checks.
