The Branch Manager builds, coaches, develops, leads, and motivates a team that provides excellent client service, analyzes clients needs, and recommends financial solutions that help Key clients achieve confidence in their financial wellness and goals. The Branch Manager is accountable for branch operations and compliance by guiding the branch team on operational/regulatory procedures, ensuring compliance with operational, security, and audit procedures, and timely completion of branch tasks.
The Branch Manager leads the team through the Branch Playbook to deliver on Branch Goals. The role focuses on acquiring and growing small business relationships and serves as a market leader in the local community and/or designated business area. Functions
- Embodies a strong client experience culture, being present with every client and teammate and recognizing the impact on their day, personally, professionally, and financially
- Engages in outside calling to small business clients in and around the community, delivering the full depth and breadth of Key s products and services; develops centers of influence and networks to identify prospective client referrals with a strong focus on Small Business
- Accountable for growing the business through retention, expansion, and acquisition tactics, and for leading the Branch team to meet activity, behavior, and outcome expectations as well as individual expectations
- Leads and develops the branch team, ensuring understanding of Key s products and services, sales and service process, and the competitive landscape, while instilling Key s vision and values
- Facilitates strong partnerships within the branch team and with line of business partners, focusing on client acquisition and deepening relationships; effectively manage internal and external COIs
- Responsible for managing, staffing, and scheduling all direct report work schedules within the branch, including recruiting, interviewing, selecting, onboarding and training new teammates, and ensuring appropriate staffing coverage
- Delivers a consistent, disciplined coaching and performance management process including observational coaching, joint sales calls, growth and development, and use of training tools
- Provides guidance to ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and internal controls, including timely completion of branch operations tasks
- Work on Saturdays as directed by management
- Performs other duties as assigned; duties and responsibilities may change or be added at any time
- Complies with all Key Bank policies and procedures, including acting professionally, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in clients and Key s best interests
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience (required)
- Bachelor s Degree (preferred)
- 3+ years in a sales capacity with demonstrated ability to lead and coach a successful sales team (required)
- 3+ years demonstrated small business deposit/credit experience and familiarity with small business operations (required)
- General understanding of financial statements and concepts (required)
- Demonstrated understanding of consumer credit including loan-to-value, debt-to-income, and credit reports (required)
- Demonstrated ability to leverage Centers of Influence (COIs) to promote business (required)
- Demonstrated experience influencing business partners (e.g., Key Investment Services, Mortgage, and Business Banking sales professionals) (required)
- Ability to effectively communicate with strong public speaking skills (required)
- Notary License (preferred)
- Lead by example to deliver distinctive client service; develop the skills of a high-performing team and grow the business through enduring client relationships
- Know the client s accounts and business with the bank; use sound judgment in client interactions
- Lead Branch sales with proactive client focus, preset appointments, and quality conversations to support clients financial wellness goals
- Foster a culture that embraces change and continuous improvement, aligning initiatives with values and strategic goals
- Strong work ethic and high integrity
- Excellent time management to lead the team through multiple priorities
- Provide guidance and support, conduct coaching sessions, and create development plans
- Build and maintain connections with clients, partners, and stakeholders to acquire new clients, retain existing ones, and foster trust
