Temporary Assistant Store Manager - Rutland

* In partnership with the Store Manager plans, prepares, schedules, and chairs weekly stand-up meetings, monthly staff meetings, and training sessions
* May assist the Store Manager in leading Thrift Store Leadership Team meetings
* In the absence of the Store Manager, participates in monthly Management meetings (at the Sutherland location) and Ministry-Wide monthly zoom meetings (in Rutland)
* Helps prepare daily and weekly reports for the Community Engagement Manager and Business Manager
* May prepare deposit information and send to Regional Accounting
* Assists Store Manager in overseeing staff scheduling, including approving vacations, sick time, timesheets and entering bi-weekly payroll
* In coordination with senior management, ensures that HR files, incident reports, and disciplinary reports are both up to date and kept confidential
* Supports in the administration and facilitation of discount allocation for staff and volunteers
* Works with other Salvation Army agencies to deliver emergency & disaster services as assigned by the Corps Officer
* Considerable material responsibilities (access to cash, donations, proper safekeeping of donations and goods, may have access to personal information, etc.).
* Provides input regarding departmental budget.
* Completion of College Diploma
* Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
* Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening.
* Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
* Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
* The ability to provide an original copy of a Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required, including Child Check (if appropriate).
