Travel Mental Health Technician

Overview

Mental Health Technician opportunity in Rutland, Vermont. Beginning 02/06/2026 for a contract measured in weeks, with a guaranteed 40 hours per week and a competitive weekly pay of $1,025 to $1,093.

You will support patients through assessments, de-escalation, activities of daily living, and coordination with a treatment team to reinforce safety and progress. You’ll gain hands-on experience with diverse populations, implement care plans, document progress, and learn best practices in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based approaches. The role contributes to a healing environment where patients feel respected, heard, and empowered to move forward.

• Direct patient care and observation
• Implement de-escalation techniques
• Assist with activities of daily living
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain precise documentation to inform treatment planning
• Support safety protocols and recovery-oriented interventions
• Help patients apply coping strategies to promote independence and stability

• Collaborate with nurses, psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists to refine assessment skills, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention capabilities
• Expand clinical competencies within the mental health specialty and prepare for advanced responsibilities
