Music Teacher | Rutland Middle School

Rutland City Public Schools seeks an energetic and versatile Music teacher. The successful candidate will join a group of music educators who are active in curriculum development and PLC work. A strong knowledge of standards-based grading and proficiency scales is essential. The teacher will be expected to nurture students’ understanding and appreciation of music and its role in their lives. Knowledge of different styles and musical repertoires is required.

The teacher will present student performances for community events and participate in music festivals and other professional activities. The Rutland Public Schools and the community support and value the arts. We strive to nurture each student’s interests in and through all areas of the curriculum.

We’re seeking a candidate who holds (or can obtain) a Vermont 7–12 teaching license (Master’s preferred) and who brings collaborative spirit, creativity, and enthusiasm for our unique school culture. Rutland City Public Schools offer a competitive salary, a generous benefits package, and the opportunity to participate in the Rutland City Pension Plan in addition to the VT State Pension program. Salary range is $47,252 to $92,401 (based on the 26-27 salary schedule), commensurate with experience and qualifications.
