Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Cancer Center
Location: Rutland, Vermont

A well-established cancer center in Rutland, Vermont, is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join a collaborative oncology care team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with physicians and multidisciplinary specialists to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing cancer treatment.

The Advanced Practice Provider will participate in both outpatient and inpatient oncology care, helping manage treatment plans, evaluate patients, and support the delivery of high-quality cancer services. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to providing patient-centered care in a supportive clinical environment.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and manage patients with cancer or hematologic conditions in clinic or hospital settings
  • Conduct patient assessments, physical examinations, and medical history reviews
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results
  • Assist with developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and clinical protocols
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and ongoing care
  • Collaborate with oncologists and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated care
  • Document patient care in the electronic medical record system
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Job Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current Vermont license or eligibility for licensure as an NP or PA
  • Board certification or eligibility through a recognized certifying body
  • Current DEA certification or eligibility to obtain
  • Ability to obtain hospital privileges
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
