Responsibilities- Teaching
- Provide classroom and laboratory instruction in the fields of human anatomy/physiology, microbiology, and general biology for day and/or evening courses.
- May teach up to 12 credit hours / semester and up to six credit hours during the summer.
- Identify student learning outcomes; develop processes and tools for assessment; incorporate results in order to modify instruction and materials in coordination with colleagues.
The minimum qualifications for the position is a Master’s degree in biology from a regionally accredited institution with 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline of biological sciences. The candidate must possess basic computer literacy skills, demonstrate the ability to use varied teaching techniques and instructional methods to accommodate different learning styles, and have experience in computer-assisted instruction. The abilities to provide good customer service, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced team environment is a must.
A successful candidate must be service-oriented, promote excellence, and embrace a commitment to professionalism. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and mission of Louisiana Delta Community College and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from a variety of backgrounds. Two years of successful college-level teaching experience in the discipline is preferred.
