Position: DEP PROS ATTY - ATTORNEY SUPERVISOR

Summary

The Deputy Prosecuting Attorney – Attorney Supervisor is responsible for supervising other Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys in the performance of their job responsibilities as Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys including court preparation, charging decisions, legal research as well as the drafting of legal documents. May also involve the supervision of administrative support staff.

Salary Range: $114,390 - $169,298

Functions
  • Prosecutes Circuit Court cases for the Judicial District.
  • Supervises other Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys by assigning or reviewing work, reviewing legal documents, and assisting in charging decisions.
  • Reviews and meets with law enforcement often regarding investigations and interviews of witnesses in their Judicial District.
  • Drafts briefs, motions, and other supporting legal documents on criminal cases within the Judicial District.
  • Represents the State of Arkansas in legal proceedings within the Judicial District.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge,

Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and statutes.
  • Knowledge of legal research and writing protocols.
  • Knowledge of the state’s legislative processes.
  • Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply case law, state and federal statutes, legal precedents, and relevant legislative intent to agency legal matters.
  • Ability to provide legal guidance and technical assistance to agency’s management and staff.
  • Ability to conduct litigation.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of the professional and administrative support staff.
Minimum Qualifications

The formal education equivalent of a law degree from and accredited law school.

Licenses

Licensed to practice law and admitted to the Arkansas State Bar. ACA 16-22-201
