Medical Assistant, Certified Prior Authorization

Perform routine clinical and administrative duties in support of the assigned area or office. Reports to the Practice Manager.

FLSA:
Non-exempt.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent (preferred);
  Associate’s degree (preferred).
• License: CMA, RMA, or CCMA via the AAMA or NHA must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Certification:
  Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

• Assists physicians or nurses in performing patient assessments and treatments under supervision.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitors and communicates changes in patient condition and documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting; maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Exhibits exceptional customer service with patients and teammates.
• Required to float.
• Other duties as assigned.
