Admissions Clerk
Location:
Ipswich Hospital, Heath Road, Ipswich, IP4 5PD
Hours:
30 hours per week flexible between 8.00am – 5.00pm Monday – Friday

What you’ll be responsible for:
· Deal with external and internal queries. This may include providing complex or sensitive nonclinical information or advice to patients or relatives.
· Pass on clinical and non-clinical messages as appropriate to the relevant person in a timely way.
· Assist in developing, maintaining efficient electronic filing systems.
· Provide a range of administrative support relevant to area, ensuring that urgent matters are actioned and escalated without delay
· Raising request for follow up appointments or investigations on the hospital systems
· Arranging appointments and surgery dates for patients
· Experience using trust clinical systems desirable, such as Epic

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
· Strong Microsoft office skills
· Excellent telephone manner
· NHS experience (desirable)
· Good IT skills
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
