Summary
This position requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week and weekends. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Quality or designee.

PrimaryJob Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Follow all safety requirements.
- Generate Quality Notifications in the PLP Intranet
- Conducts product inspection and testing to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Works with production personnel in maintaining a path of continual improvement in products and services supplied to our customers.
- Maintain good housekeeping in lab and lab areas.
- Conducts inspection and testing as prescribed in the PLP Quality Manual:
- Perform Density, Melt Index/HLMI, and Ash tests on all incoming products.
- Conduct in-process inspections for pipe extrusion a minimum of 2x per shift
- Verify pipe dimensions on samples submitted for final inspection
- Perform Quick Burst and Ring Tensile, within the capabilities of the lab equipment.
- Inspect finished product and mark appropriately for identification of acceptance status.
- Leadership, professionalism, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience with Word and Excel
- Strong focus on safety, quality customer service, and productivity
- Ability to operate a forklift
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong math skills
- 1-2 years’ experience
- Previous customer service and/or warehouse experience
- Ability to lift 75 pounds
- Ability to verbally communicate with other employees
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes
- Ability to use hands, arms, and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods
- Position requires a full range of body motion, including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
- Ability to speak, read and write fluently in the English language
- Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions (especially heat)
- Must be able to work weekends
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Must have reliable transportation to/from work
- Must be punctual to work
